June 3 Strategies for Creating a Successful Scrap Quilt - Marilyn Hardy will present a trunk show of her scrap quilts she has made through the years. By studying her body of work, she has arrived at the idea that there are threeprinciples for controlling scraps in our quilt designs. She will share these principles for controlling scraps (because scraps can get out of control and, by the way, are never used up!). She invites members of the guild to bring any scrap quilts to add to the trunk show, and we will analyze which of the three strategies was used to corral the scraps into a meaningful design. If anyone wants to bring a scrap quilt that they consider unsuccessful, bring it and we will analyze which principle for controlling scraps it is missing. Marilyn adds that she made one of these helter-skelter quilts. She showed it to no one and gave it away as quickly as she could.
